Rotation & Abilities
Macros & Addons
As a warrior you'll be looking at plate gear with strength as your primary stat.
Critical Strike: Increases the chance of Bloodthirst triggering Enrage, and triggering Massacre.
Haste: Compresses the rotation by reducing the GCD and the cooldown of rotational abilities such as Bloodthirst.
Mastery: Increases the damage bonus of Enrage.
Versatility: Increases damage and reduces damage taken.
Sample weight table
While gearing up in
, prioritize Haste and Mastery, and minimize Crit as much as possible. Strength starts out strong, but continues to falter as gear increases.
Keep in mind that Fury stat weights tend to be very close together
. This means that, while there is a technical ranking, there's a very small practical difference in performance between any two stats. The benefit of this is that it makes for much more accessible gearing options, as increasing ilvl is typically more important than prioritizing one stat above all else. Only Crit should be actively avoided.
From the start, you may only equip one Legendary item. Once the Order Hall advancement is complete, a second may be worn as well. While ultimately the decision on which to use will be based on what is personally available, given the choice, prioritize
for single target or
for multi-target. Note that even non-damage oriented Legendaries are still worth using for their increased item level boost.
is useful for maintaining high Enrage uptimes, and synergizes well with Massacre and Juggernaut.
increases damage and helps mitigate Fury's extra damage taken during Enrage.
only works against three or more targets, but provides a 33% increase in Whirlwind damage, and synergizes very well with Wrecking Ball.
grants a powerful proc which can also proc Massacre. Does not proc often enough to maintain Juggernaut prior to 20%, but should the attack should be prioritized whenever it's available.
is decent against multiple targets, but weaker than similar ilvl trinkets on single target. Note that it does not benefit from Enrage, Avatar, or Battle Cry, but it does benefit from increased critical damage; so it should be used during Battle Cry while Enraged.
procs off of
, however most raid encounters are immune to those effects which limits its usefulness.
greatly increases mobility, and could be useful on some raid encounters.
essentially doubles Fury's self-healing. Not particularly great in organized raiding, but outstanding in any kind of solo or open world content.
is very strong survivability boost due to Fury's increased health pool.
fun for getting around, but not a particularly useful bonus given how much mobility Fury already has. Double dips with War Machine, Battle Cry, and Heroism/Bloodlust; adding a lot of move speed during those effects.
2 piece bonus - Each use of
grants an additional 15% increase to
critical strike chance.
4 piece bonus - Increases the duration of your
by 1.5 seconds.
While the two piece bonus is mediocre, the four piece bonus is definitely worth using.
There are a
of useful trinkets in Legion. On-use trinkets are ideal due to the ability to stack cooldowns for large bursts of damage.
The approximate ranking of trinkets, item level being equal, is:
Note: These rankings are a work in progress and subject to change. Results may vary depending on individual gear, stats, artifact investment, and specific trinket combinations used.
Nighthold BiS List
This is a general recommendation for gearing in Nighthold. Keep in mind that with Warforged/Titanforged and Legendaries, this list may not be applicable to all players. Higher ilevel items are often better, even if their stat allocation isn't optimal.
Finding Gear on Wowhead
From simple recommendations to advanced filters, Wowhead can help you find the gear you want.
is a great way to search for gear if you are new to Wowhead's filtering system.
Choose what item category, gear slot, and class specialization you're interested in, and it will return results for you. You can further narrow it down by source--including gear from LFR and heroic dungeons.
You can find the Item Finder via Tools > Item Finder or Database > Items > Item Finder.
returns personalized gear suggestions for you and shows which content has the most upgrades.
Simply load up the
with you preferred character and it will list gear recommendations in a 20 ilvl range for you. It will also list how many gear upgrades each boss has so you can plan out bonus rolls. Finally, the character planner will perform an audit and let you know if you have any missing enchants, glyphs, or gems.
If you have a character in our
which is great for tracking vanity collections and viewing your character in our 3D modelviewer, you can click on the "Planner" button in the header to access the tool. If you don't, you can just enter your information in at Tools > Character Planner.
Wowhead utilizes a powerful system of item filters to narrow down the gear you need.
, you can enter in some basic options at the top--the name of the item, its item level, the level the players needs to be. The "Usable by" dropdowns cover factions, class, and role.
The dropdown menu right above "Stat Weights" opens to display a variety of advanced options. These cover the following:
General item info such as Added in Expansion/Patch, BoE/BoP, Unique-Equipped, Class-Specific.
Stats: All primary stats, secondary stats, defensive stats, and weapon stats.
Source: All in-game sources, ranging from raid difficulties to the Black Market Auction House to sold by a vendor.
Miscellaneous: Many of these filters are not relevant to equippable gear such as Crafting Reagents and Toys, but you can filter for items that are currently obtainable.
Once you've selected a filter from the menu, click on Apply filter for search results. You can repeat the process to filter for multiple criteria at once--for example, Agility gear that is found in Mythic Foundry.
Over on the right-hand side of the page, you can select a particular Gear Slot or Quality to narrow results even further.
Finally, you can quickly view a subset of items at once using the Database Menus. Head to Database > Items and mouseover the Weapon and Armor options for quick links to gear arranged by armor type and slot.
