I use a G5 Logitech and I'm really interested in this mouse. One of the main issues I have is clicking both left and right buttons to move, while trying to press another button (my push to talk for ventrilo) at the same time. I end up queuing the mic for either too short or too long, or running too far, etc.How easy is it to click various buttons on the keypad with your thumb while at the same time holding Left and Right mouse buttons down? This is make or break my purchase of this mouse.
Gherkin, it's not difficult to press one of the 12 buttons while holding down your left and right button to move. What I have found, however, is that since I'm accustomed to stabilizing the mouse with my thumb and pinky, when I apply the pressure to press a thumb button, it'll make my mouse move to the right a bit. It's a little bit of a learning curve. The more you play with it, the more you start to stabilize the mouse with your third finger on the rest that's made for it, and then it stops being a problem.
I have a problem with the mouse being a bit... small. The buttons are great and even though I haven't tried them out (not playing an MMO, I was planning on using this mouse for other programs in due time), but there's basically no rest for my palm, something I had for my Logitech MX518.And, since it's so small my fingers can quite easily drag on the mat. In fact if I want to comfortably rest my hand they pretty much have to touch the mat.My hand is of average size, but... well... unless I get to know the mouse better, I don't think this is a great buy unless you have smaller hands, hence I think the article may be a bit misleading (no offence but girls tend to have smaller hands).Might follow up on this and see if my opinion about it changes as I use it.
Replaced my horrible SteelSeries "MMO-gaming" mouse with the Razer Naga. I'm never going back to SteelSeries. Also got the Belkin n52te speedpad to complement my upgrade. Still getting used to the speedpad compared to the keyboard for movement, etc, but I personally like it better than being in a confined space between my keyboard and mouse. ;)
BTW, I'd love to get some feedback and know what you guys think about the Razer Naga, for those of you who have purchased and received one!
I like the Naga. It works well to free up buttons on the keyboard. I've played for an hour or so using the side buttons only for attacks (Elemental Shaman) I can easily press 5 of the buttons on the side without feeling around for them, without being in danger of pressing two buttons at once. For the other buttons I will need some more practice time. Two things that concern me... When pressing the buttons on the mouse it is easy to forget to let go of the right mouse button, and when smashing the button repeatedly (Sinister Strike spam) you can actually jiggle the screen alittle with each button press. I have to learn to let go of the left mouse button when attacking, but then that limits mobility. Also, the side buttons seemed to get harder to press quickly, taking too much force to press rapidly. This could be overcome by exercising my thumb, using the mouse more =)This is a review coming after only 1 to 3 hours of gameplay with the mouse.
I know this isn't related to the Razer but I'm looking for a verticle-mouse with gaming grade precision. If such a thing even exists can someone point me in the right direction?

Got this for christmas. Great mouse, excellent reaction time and awesome feel. The buttons were super easy to set up. You just switch to mouse to advanced mode so the side buttons are your num pad, then bind keys in wow to the numpad. The side buttons, 1-6 are very easy to hit, I mastered them in about an hour. 7-12 I don't even use because I have plenty of bindings now. It might be kind of hard if you have giant hands though. It fits me perfectly but I'm not a big dude, only 5'8" with hands to match. If you have a nice feeling 6 button mouse already I don't think this is really necessary, but for me I was using a 2 button before so I added about 6 mouse buttons and it has helped a lot
I also got one for xmas, and so far, and am quite disappointed with the lack of acceleration control as well as the placement of the back/forward buttons, or at least a way to reassign two of the thumb buttons to act as windows' standard back/forward function. On a positive note, it certainly is a mouse with many buttons.
I got a Naga back in the beginning of November (After drooling at it seeing it here on Wowhead, I pretty much ordered it then and there.) and I've loved it ever since. I really can't remember what it was like, using the number keys to heal. =PIt only took about a week for me to fully get used to it (memorize all the buttons, ect) and I find it MUCH faster and more efficient for healing, in combination with Mouse-over macros. I don't just use it for healing, either. I use it for all my toons, doing whatever they do.And yeah, at first 1-9 were easy to hit and 10-12 were harder, but eventually, like any videogame controller, you perfectly memorize where all the buttons are.
I know this is several months after the last post in this thread but I thought it was worthwhile because the team at Razer had released version 2.0 (2.03 at time of writing) of the mouse software. It now allows keybinding to be done for ANY keys onto the 12 mouse buttons. (Initially the 12 mouse buttons were either defaulting to the top row of numbers on your keyboard (1 to =) or the numpad.)Really, the only less-than-perfect reviews I've seen about this mouse are to do ith large hand sizes. So if you hand size isn't like Shaq, then it's probably a good consideration! I was reviewing mice options and when I saw this I immediately ordered one. Hopefully I post an update on the usage of it in a few days.
OK - time to post an update. I've now had this mouse for about 1.5 months and used it for 1-2 hours every day (on average) playing WoW. I've got a number of macros bound to the 1-12 buttons over several characters. It seems to work really well as far as game play goes, but you do have to teach yourself where the buttons are and I've come close to wiping (I generally player healers) once or twice because I forgot which spells were bound to which keys. It's really smooth and all buttons work well.I think I gave up trying to make tricky macros, and just re-arranged my macros on my toolbars to fit the mouse buttons, actually turned out ok, no big worries there.Anyhow, there is definitely a size issue so if you have medium-large hands I would steer clear of it unless you are really desperate.I'm not sure if it's related or not, but I seem to have developed an RSI type issue now with the tendon running from my thumb on my mouse hand to my wrist hurting quite a lot. Again, it may or may not be related... (may have slept on it on a funny angle, or it could be the muscles in my hand developing)... To be continued I suppose.
I played around with this mouse a bit, but I liked the Orochi much better:http://store.razerzone.com/store/razerusa/en_US/pd/productID.169419000/parentCategoryID.35208800/categoryId.35210700It just feels right to me.
I got this Razer Naga a few weeks ago. It's a pretty good mouse but the only problem I'm having is using Button 4 & 5. I can't seem to get my thumbs up that high. I have to use my index finger instead. Other then that.. lots of MACROS can be tied up with it. I also go the Razer Lycosa keyboard.
Another update. My wrist/thumb got extremely painful. So painful that I almost couldn't use my right hand for anything. Strangely enough however, I could still use the Naga mouse without any serious pain. Trying to do the "Finkelstein Test" was next to impossible because of the pain that was produced. So I stopped using the mouse. That was almost 2 weeks ago. 1 week after not using the mouse and applying anti-inflammatory gels to my wrist it became a little better. I was now using my left hand for my mouse at work and have basically not played WoW the entire time.In the past 4-5 days my wrist is approximately back at about 70% usage, still hand have sharp pains if I knock it in the wrong direction. I suspect another week or two and I will be back good as new. Needless to say the Naga has been 'demoted' to my spare computer parts box.Bit of a shame as I really liked that mouse and the abilities it provided, but alas it was nto to be.Here endith the lesson.
