Excellent! Now, if only the same for Epic Flying :<
This should shut up the kids complaining about Azeroth flying.
Brilliant, just brilliant! *there's no more words* *WORD*
I would hope they would lower it once it was no longer end-game content. Northrend will be practically deserted come Cataclysm - 1000g just to be able to fly to level a bit seems a bit much.
Well I read Azeroth flying was only gonna be 250G, So they didn't have much to complain about in the first place. lol I'm just excited to use my touring rocket to weasel tons of gold out of lazy people. :D
Now if they would lower epic flying we would have a scaling flying skill tree that got more expensive the higher you got in level and also got more advanced as you leveled as well. IE level 20 - 5G, level 40 - 50G, level 60 *Outland flying* - 250G, level 60 *flying in old world* - 250G, level 68 *Northrend Flying* - 500G, level 70 *epic flying* - 2,000G and level 80 *super fast flying* - 5,000G. Thats how I would do it and I could see a new player being able to get 2,000G together for epic flying at 70+ and most likely before 80 and at 85 5,000G should be a breeze most current 80s can get to that now and be ready for the new skill when it comes.
Hmmm, on the one hand, I think they shouldnt have lowered the level requirement to 68, since I think that all new players should experience the new continent on foot at first, so that they actually get to see the place properly, rather than just be able to fly from questgiver to questmob/item and back. It also gives a greater sense of progression from one area to the next. Cold weather flying is already available at 68 for alts, so seems unnecessary. On the other hand, the expansion is Cataclysm. Its all about the new 'old' world low level stuff, and the new high level stuff. Northrend isnt something people are going to be spending much time on anymore, and I can see the point of wanting to get people through it to the new content asap. Also, if this expansion follows the same pattern as others, people will move onto the new content around lvl78 - so shelling out 1000g to fly around for one level would seem pointless.I guess its an inevitable and sensible change, but I feel sorry for those that will miss the majesty of hacking their way through Howling Fjord/Borean/DragonBlight/Grizzly Hills/Zul'Drak on foot. Especially Grizzly Hills, I love that area, it is made for riding through on horseback.
Glad I haven't bought any tomes of flying...
I'm still holding out hope they're going to reduce the epic flying to something like 2,500G. I've got plenty of gold but I still think 5,000G is too much.
That makes Old World Flying more tolerable to pay for. Now they just need to stop jacking everyone on Epic Flight so badly.
so do i get refunded 2000g? no...i hate it when stuff suddenly gets cheaper (btw 2000g being half the price of cold weather flying on my 4 characters that use it)
Everything gets cheaper when something new comes out. Deal with it.
I'm glad this is happening as I've already experience Nothrend on foot once, and it only makes sense since Northrend will be outdated. And I wish epic flying was cut in half since 310% flying will be 5000g. It would still be a gold sink, and there are (and will be) plenty of other gold sinks.
inb4refund... Oh. Too late.(No. I'm not asking for a refund. Makes me glad that my alts don't have to pay that much.)
I JUST bought a tome of flying for 2 characters lol. No biggie. They still gotta do something about epic flying! Maybe just take away 1000g from or anything!
