I see. Not that I really care.Wowhead forums > official forums.
Not the best idea to continue a quote pyramid, no matter how true the first post is.
Will this be the forum that uses battle.net identifiers (i.e. real names) as poster tags?
The only thing that i am sad about is the disappearance of the Alamo thread and the Blizzard Facepalm.
What "conspiracy"?Right now, the new official WoW forums broadcast your real name in plain text. If you're at a coffeeshop, everyone there can sniff your real name off the wireless if they want to. Look into Firesheep; same basic bug. There is no reason for the forum software to have your full legal name displayed on every page, especially when those pages are sent in cleartext, with no encryption or security whatsoever. That said, thanks for reminding me of the one part of WoW I'll miss least -- people who can imagine no higher calling than telling other people they don't care.
Showing your real name on a website that you are logged into is not unique to Blizzard forums.
