Sounds fun, tbh. This is good for me, because for whatever reason my guild refuses to let me raid (I have no idea who I pissed off, but meh).
I'm glad to hear from someone new at Blizzard. Fargo's post here is well-worded and provides some very worthwhile information for those who want to keep playing at 85, but don't necessarily want to raid or PvP.One thing they could add: Class quest chains at the level cap that offer rewards like class-specific high iLvl weapons or armor.
F^&* YOO GOSTECRAWLR!111!1one!11Oh wait...
Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful! As a casual gamer, I can't wait to get my Alliance toons to 85 now and hit the new quest hubs when 4.2 drops. Outstanding.A Dev Watercooler directed at me - cool!Cheers.
You'd better make him soon, or some joker will take the name. But grats and that sucks at the same time =P
This guy seems sensible, very compelling and satisfying read. And unlike HURR DURR GOSTCRAWLAR IDIOT WE HATE U he seems to have a very good idea of what he's talking about. Nice to see.Kidding - I like GC
Being primarily a PVP person - for reasons not unlike discussed in this post - I can see changes like these making endgame PVE fun for me again. I don't want to raid, I don't want to do the same dungeon over and over, I just want to have casual fun with epic quests. Very cool mindset! I wait in anticipation of future patches now more than ever.
So this is the guy I can blame for the linear, phased, movie-filled nonsense called questing? Cool. That said, I much preferred reading that to reading anything by our favorite lead dev. At least he comes off as intelligent and doesn't do the talking down/double talking nonsense. More blogs by this guy please!Oh and on the topic of new dailies...*half-hearted hooray*
/Off-topic response on!Yep, I've said before, I love bc questing, I don't give a fig if it changes the world. I think phasing is a really nifty mechanic when used in certain ways (the dk starter chain for example is a good use of phasing imo) but I believe it was drastically overused in cataclysm zones and makes questing with friends (or in my case my husband) more difficult because you must stay at the exact same spot on all your quests or you can't see each other. I also dislike some of the phasing in cataclysm zones because of how it changes the wildlife available (hyjal is the worst) and of course like everyone else I hate phased gathering nodes! I feel similarly about cut scenes, used sparingly and where appropriate they are great...but I felt they were again vastly over-utilized in cata (hi uldum) or where just disappointing in the quality of the cutscene in other places (dw in TH is the most glaring). I can appreciate that what I like isn't what everyone else likes, but I also know I'm not the only one who isn't wild about the cataclysm questing model.I made the remark about him being the guy I could blame for that in a flippant way, perhaps that isn't how you read it. I was quite impressed by how he came off in the blog but yea, I would give him heck irl about trying to come between a gal and her man with phasing :P

I really enjoyed his round of Water Cooler - very pleasant read :)
