Pre patch alone is enough to justif playing my two (free) month sub atm.
Thanks for transcribing the Q&A for us, staffers! I can't watch the stream right now but I can at least repeatedly punch F5. :)I do have my hopes up for Legion. I like to think Blizzard has learned many lessons from WoD, not least of which is that Blizzard does their best when they're not rushed. Blizzard used to be known for taking (sometimes inordinate) amounts of time with releasing new content, only after being polished to their trademark shine. I truly hope that they mean what they say when it comes to slowing their roll and taking longer to refine expansions as a whole.
"At this point, no. Yearly expansions are not likely--players need time to explore the world created, and the developers need time to make a satisfying expansion."Hooray! Yes, we do need more time to explore.
And since some of us haven't been playing for a decade, end of expansion lulls are great for going and poking around at things we haven't seen yet. Or leveling alts. (I've started a Tauren Shaman and Goblin Priest lately, as a balance for all my Alliance chars.)
There's a lot of good in this post. Obviously getting pre-patch Soon™ will be awesome. Then in Legion, I'm really looking forward to the trad-able personal loot - especially in guild raid runs. So many times the people that already had a tier piece got it time and again, while a few unlucky guildies missed it several times in a row.I personally am looking forward to a BoP crafting mat again. As the dev said in the interview, it makes professions more meaningful again. Incoming "BS LFW, your mats, 100g per Blood of Sargeras" (or whatever the gold amount is)I'm torn on the legendary world drops. I like that there can be only 1 at a time (at least at launch) but should legendaries be drops at all? I like that they are going back to early WoW style of drops, but should they be bop epics instead of legendaries? Either way, I'm curious on how it plays out.
After playing a lot of Havoc and Vengeance, I could see them adding a 2nd DPS spec. The two current specs are very very different, so if they have a cool idea for a 2nd spec, it wouldn't feel watered down.
If you need an addon to get the missing UI options (and more) back, go here http://mods.curse.com/addons/wow/advancedinterfaceoptions
This is cool thank you! All of it sounds interesting and worth trying out. I'm not a fan of BoP craft mats, though - it was very frustrating with the spirits/motes in MoP.
It would be nice if you could ask them if the Crystallized Fel are going away too or will still be lootable on Archimonde.
Cool they actually answered the question I asked on the forums about Ulduar style hard modes ^_^
The answer on the Blood of Sageras issue was ridiculous and skirted the real issue. So, yes, they want us to have gathering with crafting and want us to have materials that cause our professions to be valuable. But that's not the issue. The issue is - what if you currently don't have gathering/crafting? You can't just tell us - throw away one profession you've leveled to 700 and get a different one. Giving the Blacksmithing example in the Q&A was disingenuous. Of course you should have mining with that. But what about Tailoring/Enchanting? Tell us what gathering we should have with those instead. And what about the good little Herbalism/Alchemy chaps. They chose gathering/crafting, but have nothing to use Blood of Sageras for.I guess we just need to wait until next week to try and get them to answer this properly.
Ion “Watcher” Hazzikostas? More like Ion Hasn't-got-a-clue.
What were the interface UI things they've removed? I haven't heard anything about it. Or is it referring to the stats panel on the Character Info bit..?
"If you are an advanced user, you can still set options with console commands, or via addons."Absolutely ridiculous.
