If they felt like being able to zoom so far was unfair, they should just add that as the default option to zoom that far rather then require a command. I like the world more zoomed out, I can see more and enjoy more.
as long as i can see everyone i'm saying "rawr xd :3 nuzzles" to in dungeons, i'm good
I hope they fix the chat again while they're at hotfixing, the last hotfix lasted about a day and it bugged for everyone again. (Yes, I have already reported it)
Well propably everyone was expecting that.
That's a step forward, at least. However, they need to listen to their PAYING customers. If we want the far zoom back, it doesn't matter what THEY want anymore. With the rapidly dwindling numbers because of the fail that was Warlords of Draenor, (and don't get me wrong, I was one of the few who enjoyed WoD), they are in no position to tell us what we have to deal with. It's time Blizzard does what we want, or this expansion will go much like the last, and it will be World of Warcraft's death knell. And I'm not being a pessimist. This game cant take another hit like WoD caused. They ruined the trust a lot of players had with WoW over the years. And this is the last chance many are willing to give it. If they screw this up, it will be no fault but their own.
Blizzard qq because players want to be able to see what's happening around the giant mobs and bosses. What a petty way to punish them. And they shouldn't design fights around anything but the default setting for zoom, if people want to zoom out they will.
yaay they fixed the hunter only nopc fel rangari so now we can get out hunter pets the green dogs from killing her woohoo!
Not midway, ALL THE WAY. whats so hard to revert back to what it was? Why the petty handout and compromise? Just revert the change and leave it alone. The blizz devs just cant admit wrongdoing and actually fix the issue, they always have to find some angle to get their way by any means. They are untrustworthy.
Blackrock FoundryCorrected an issue that would cause Hans'gar and Franzok to reset when a player outside the encounter area was targeted by Body Slam. This would've been useful MONTHS ago...
@DaemoniaNZ The Q2 numbers do not reflect the reaction to the camera change as that change only went into effect on the Beta in late June. The post by Watcher in the Beta thread about the change was June 25. There was zero Blue commentary on the zoom issue in either the Beta, PTR or General forums until today in the 10th continuation thread of the topic. That's over a month of silence on an issue that generated thousands of posts, many from players saying they were no longer physically able to stand playing the game at the reduced zoom level and were cancelling subs and/or getting refunds on their pre-order. It's about time that someone at Blizzard actually addressed the dissatisfaction with such a late-in-dev-cycle change to a system that affects every single aspect of how the player interacts with the game world.
Thank you so much for addressing this issue. Hugs to all that have motion sickness issues or simulation sickness.. It is a real and difficult to deal with. I have suffered all my life with this and WoW is the one game I can play without wanting to vomit within as little as 30 seconds as compared to playing the majourity of other games. It is a huge relief that you took this matter so seriously. Keep up the good work.
Considering the vast majority of players had never heard of let alone used the console command to increase distance, seems to me that once again Blizz is caving to a vocal minority. If the max distance available through the in-game slider was what most player were using it does seem like cheating for people who knew about the command to go beyond that.
So, basically no one understood the corollary in the blue post. Good to know.
Okay, so in order to get Blizzard's attention and have them make any much-needed change to the game:1- Make an addon that is counteractive to their plans, or2- Be a famous Youtuber and whinge about their plans.Got it.
I'm still amazed at how many things were broken with the prepatch. Each hotfix has some quests being fixed, jewelcrafting dailies are still not rotating, and the pandaria farm is still kinda broken (you can't use the plow and stubborn weeds aren't always responding to you pulling it). I thought the Beta was for finding bugs and solving them before the patch went live.
So the compromise is still worse than what we had access to prior to the patch. That doesn't seem like a smart move, given that players were already upset about losing the original max-camera distance (not even the CVar). Basically Blizzard is saying that we should be happy that the new camera distance isn't as bad as it is on live, while completely ignoring the fact that it's still significantly worse than what it used to be. Hopefully some other bright spark will develop a new addon that actually fixes the problem.
I just hope that I'll be able to at least see the whole platform on the last fight in ubrs. Right now you're soooo close that they may as well make it a first person game.
