really love you guys for "best dungeons to run this week" The suggestions are definitly nice! ... upper kara - i totally agree, CoS? yeah... imps are a pain if you have no blood elves... but halls? halls is just really stupid with fortified. I would rather suggest Neltharions and you just kite the $%^& out of the pelter **** so they dont even start throwing stones at you. Halls is just horrific with the archers and all the casters and dragons... hate that anyway :DBut thanks for talking your time, keep doing <3 love the Q&A about m+ :)
Hi JB, what do you think of new Keystone Changes in BFA? (Tyrannical - fortified on lvl 2) and 1 more question, what changes you'd like to see in BFA for high M+s especially on Tyrannical weeks? now the fights are mostly about, how much healers can survive and play their Mana efficiently (sry for bad English)
You covered a lot here of generally useful information, but I have to say there's some far better (albeit requiring very specific classes and gear) tactics for dealing with necrotic that you didn't mention here. It happens to be my favorite affix, and I have enjoyed tanking high keys with necrotic on all tanks in Legion except druids (because I don't play one <3). Not trying to steal your thunder here but provide you with some solid info you could use to expand on this.So here's some more advanced information I would add to this that I think would be good for players to know.#1 Not all tanks are equal:While all tanks can handle necrotic there are 2 that are absolutely king for this affix and they are (not surprisingly) Brewmaster Monks and Blood Death Knights.Brewmasters who are extremely good with necrotic because of their inately high built in dodge rating. Even with large groups of mobs, if you are playing correct it is very hard for a Brewmaster to get high stacks of Necrotic. This is particularly true with the t21 2 piece and the brewmaster shoulder + chest legendaries equipped. Brewmasters also have a distinct advantage of being able to do most of their damage from range, so absolutely don't be afraid to pull large groups of melee mobs if you have the space to kite around.Right up there with the Brewmaster are Blood DKs, apart from the huge benefit of well timed Anti-Magic Shell or Vampiric Blood when you have high stacks of Necrotic, it is important to note that Healing from Leech Ignores Necrotic. Blood DK's have built in 20% Leech as long as Blood Shield is active and an additional 25% granted from using Consumption. I can personally attest that while a Blood DK has significantly more difficulty than other tanks avoiding gaining stacks of necrotic (due to dr on parry and lack of mobility) they can survive many many many more stacks of necrotic than other tanks due to their built in Leech. Demon Hunter's come in at 3rd as they have a similar mobility to the monk, and a lot of built in leech if you are properly geared and talented. For Necrotic keys, Demon Hunter's that want to be optimal should be using using Spirit Bomb and Demonic Infusion Talents along with Fragment of the Betrayer's Prison and Oblivion's Embrace Legendaries. Due to the RNG nature of Metamorphis Procs, and the fact that you need constant Soul Fragments to gain the Leech benefit from Spirit Bomb, I do not recommend Soul Rending talent, use Fracture instead. Burning Alive is also very recommended for this affix in particular. Abyssal Strike should be your go-to talent for M+ in tier 1 to maximize your mobility and allow you to easily kite as needed, other options are all inferior.I would rate Protection Warrior's 4th on this list, and Protection Paladins 5th. Druids can manage but they have substantially more difficulty dealing with the affix than other tanks due to how they generate and spend rage and their lack of mobility. Although they are improved here by using Lady and the Child and Fury of Nature legendaries.Outside of that, tanks of all types, if possible try to put together a leech set if you can use it without gimping yourself i lvl and set bonus or legendary-wise, it really is quite great to have for Necrotic and in genera. There's a laundry list of very useful trinkets here as well, Ravaged Seed Pod or Fang of Tichondrius (especially if you can get a 910 or higher version from relinquished trinket tokens) are actually really great to use for Necrotic, particular for a Protection Warriors or Gaurdian Druids. In addition to that, trinkets that provide a large shield taht absorbs all damage are very very useful for tanks with the Necrotic Affix. I would personally recommend going after the following: Reliquary of the Damned from Desolate Host in Tomb of Sargeras, provides a large amount of stamina and a large shield that is buffed by your versatility rating with a 2 minute cooldown. Coagulated Nightwell Residue from The Arcway is one of the strongest options as it provides a large amount of mastery and causes your attacks to generate a buff that stacks up to 10 it's on use consumes the buff to generate a large shield that is also buffed by your versality rating, the on use effect also has only a 30 second cooldown so you can use this trinket frequently. Smoldering Titanguard from Aggramar in Antorus the Burning Throne. This provides you with a substantial amount of mastery and an on use much larger shield than the above trinkets that lasts for 3 seconds with a 2 minute cd. After the effect expires, you send out waves of flame in 4 directions that deal substantial damage to everything they pass through. Unlike the above trinkets, the shield is not buffed by versatility, but since just the normal 930 version absorbs over 18 million damage it is quite strong and you'll find a lot of use for it.Other examples include Ishkar's Felshield Emitter from Antoran High Command in Antorus the Burning Throne, which tanks can actually equip and use on themself, trinket gives you a large chunk of versatility and a small but substantial shield that deals aoe fire damage when it breaks. It's not as strong as the above examples, but still useful for this affix and other similar effects.#2 Optimize your Comp:If your tank isn't a paladin try to bring a ret or holy paly to your group, in extreme circumstances where a tank is desperate to reset stacks a Blessing of Protection and taunt swap at the right time can save you from a wipe. Also bring a BM hunter so their pet can taunt off you to help reset stacks when you really need it.Outside of that you really want to bring an Elemental Shaman if you can for their knockbacks and earthquakes, or a Boomkin for their Knockbacks and roots. Both classes help a great deal with this affix with their constant AOE burst potential. If you have a Ret Paly in group I highly recommend you consider bringing a Disc Priest as your healer. Power Word: Shield (esp with body and soul talented to give you movement speed), Power Word: Barrier, Leap of Faith, Pain Supression and additional absorbs from Atonement + Smite are a benefit no other healer can bring for this affix.#3 Consumables:Bring plenty of Astral Healing Potions to quickly bring yourself up after combat ends. Also consider using Skystep Potions to give you some movement speed burst, and you should exclusively use Bear Tartare to help you kite or Fighter Chow to help you quickly regenerate health when you leave combat so you can eliminate downtime between pulls.Short version: Mobility, Leech, Knockbacks, and Shields will make dealing with this Affix a Breeze. Cheers!
Interesting post. Love the best dungeons to run this week.
Awesome article. So Informed and articulate.
Great article, good tips! Thanks.
Thanks for the Fortified addition! Looks like a good push week but now I know which ones to definitely try to avoid. :)
What are your thoughts on Seat of the Triumvirate, as far as M+ goes? Do you think it's long overdue for nerfs, or is Blizzard just waiting till after the MDI?
