These seem pretty impossible to me at all times, 3rd time I've gotten one, with 4 compaions at level 24, the mission itself is level 24, it has almost 9k heart and 500 damage, not including the wave of eternal death that happens every round.

Taken three swipes at, this time with 23/23/20/18 companions, and I'm still not over at the hump. This mission doesn't look to be practically complete-able until the 3rd week.

I completed this mission as a Nightfae (on the 7th of December) without losing a single companion/troop.

The mission was against a lvl 25 Ghelak's Revenge & I recieved 107 Soul Ash for it.
My companions were level: 27/26/21/21 - Niya/Yira'lya/Dreamweaver/Kota & troops at lvl 23.

I used all 4 companions + 1 Ardenweald Trapper (for the -10% overall enemy damage). Troop positioning. Completion screen.

If you don't have Dreamweaver yet or only low level, try Niya.

Notes

Details of why this strategy works is fully explained in this post for the related mission, Durchbruch in die Ebenen. Basically it relies on the large damage reduction from the Troopers ability which stacks. Also it appears bugged and continues to reduce incoming damage beyond the ability so may get fixed but still the best way for Night Fae. See link for a lot more detail and suggestion what to try for other covenants generally.

Just finished a level 30 version of this mission using the above team around Level 28 and did not lose a single one.

Is anyone else receiving this mission repeatedly? Like every week? Even after completing it 4 weeks in a row? I have yet to get any other soul ash missions, but only failed my first attempt two weeks after the expac launched. Ever since then its been Ghelak's Revenge.

Venthyr
I beat the level 60 with a modified version of greatbambino5000's strat. I subbed Draven for Meatball. Both showed as a win, but Draven simmed with less damage to the group overall.

The following setups worked for me. I didn't get this mission until most of my companions were at level 60, so they may not work at lower levels.

I 've only just got this mission (or bothered to run it) on Venthyr, and not had on Necrolord char yet, but, based on the "two tanks + damage increase + AoE healer + AoE DPS" strategy, I would expect the following to work:
Venthyr: General Draven, Stonehead or Dug Gravewell, Madame Iza, Chachi, Theotar
Necrolord: Bonesmith, Gunn, Plaguey, Deathfang or Emeni, Enceladus or Plague Deviser

Best tip for levelling your mission table on a new alt is to accept ONLY the first soulbind companion (e.g. Niya). Throw them at high xp/hour missions (typically: XP missions, high XP missions overnight/long gaps in play, short 2-4 hour XP missions for AP/gold/rep during frequent play) until they, and the accompanying troops, reach level 60. You can speed this up by sending the XP tokens from any other characters and using the two (three?) 10,000XP tokens you get by completing the Korthia Campaign.

Once this char is level 60, raise your Renown/run Torghast to collect all the other followers, especially your strong AoE healer. For

Night Fae: Ella on level 5+ of any Torghast
Kyrian: Auric Spiritguard, Renown 71
Venthyr: Madame Iza, Renown 62
Necrolord: Plaguey, Renown 33.

Edit: Something I forgot to add was to always ensure your average troop level is higher than the level of the special missions that increase the average level of missions and rewards. There are 4 each, awarding rep (12 -> 24), then 4 pets (level 48), then 4 mounts. As Kyrian and Venthyr troops are weak compared to Night Fae and Necrolord (and I already have the mounts), I do NOT complete those quests on those covenants. The rewards are slightly less, but the completion rate is substantially higher.
