Winged Guardian Hits Blizzard's Pet Store and All Races Get a Roar
2011.05.31 um 12:49
Two fun new vanity features were just announced by Blizzard. The first is the long awaited
to the Blizzard store for $25 USD.
A new arrival has just landed in the Blizzard Pet Store: the majestic Winged Guardian flying mount, a titan creation designed to protect Azeroth\u2019s most ancient secrets. As with the Celestial Steed, this Guardian of the Titans will carry you across Azeroth as fast as your riding skill will take you. Head over to the Pet Store to see this new addition and other World of Warcraft companions, and check out the FAQ for more information.
The second bit of information is that the \/roar emote will now have roaring for all. If you recall, it was hotfixed out in 4.1 because Worgen had their own roar and other races didn't. Well, don't worry; now everyone has one.
Patch 4.2: Firelands Boss Loot Including Where Pureblood Fire Hawk Drops
2011.05.26 um 07:36
Thanks to the Encounter Journal feature on the PTR, we now have what drops from what boss in our knowledge for
. This is pretty awesome and it confirms things most people speculated about ilevels, including how
has an elevated ilevel like
does from current content (as well as a mace that any Holy paladin would probably kill to have).
also drops from all heroic modes of bosses it seems and it is uncertain as to what this item is used for, though it could quite possibly be used to upgrade armor pieces.
A lot of people thought that
Schwelendes Ei von Millagazor
would drop from a rare mob, but no, that's also our favorite Firelord. Speaking of mounts, however, it's possible that since
Flammenkralle von Alysrazar
isn't tied to a loot table for a boss currently that it could be from a rare mob or a random drop from doing the zone quests--which
plays a role in. We'll have to wait and see.

Kriegsbär der Amani
first time around? There's a new
Kampfbär der Amani
in Zul'Aman and it can be yours if you follow these tips to shave off a few minutes when clearing the first four bosses and freeing their prisoners. We'll assume you've already acquainted yourself with the basic flow of the instance, either by running it several times this week, reading our Dungeon Guide for boss strats or were familiar from the BC version.
Anyway, here are our favorite tricks to beating the timer this early on. You'll only have 25 minutes to get this mount, so listen closely!
A Guide to Patch 4.1's Vanity Items and a Wowhead Comic
2011.04.27 um 19:56
As our own in-house artist Noxy would be quick to point out, 4.1 isn't all about the trolls and the 353 epics. It's also not just a filler patch meant to tide us over until Firelands. In fact, according to her, the patch is very important--it has a lot of shiny vanity items to play with! From ones you dig up to ones you're lucky enough to adopt, there were a lot of little things added in this patch. Read on for a wallpaper about them and a miniguide of where to find these fun items.
Rise of the Cute Kittens
Noxy was so inspired by the new vanity pets that were introduced that she made a wallpaper for you showing her true feelings towards this patch. Yes, she's awesomely talented. Yes, she should draw more.
Cryptozoic Shows Off New WoW TCG Loot Cards!
2011.04.11 um 16:18
Log off of that alt and into the real world - we're talking World of Warcraft Trading Card Game here! Our friends over at Cryptozoic Entertainment have just given us the heads up on a spotlight of their latest expansion War of the Elements, which hits the shelves on April 26, 2011, and will be available in French, Italian, German, and English all on the same day! My favorite part? New loot cards!
I'm sure many of you have purchased packs in the past and been disappointed to find that the super-rare items were indeed as super-rare as advertised. Well, unlike previous World of Warcraft TCG expansions, Cryptozoic's War of the Elements set contains a common quality loot item that is no longer a consumable (such as the
Papa Hummels traditionelles Leckerli
, though admittedly they were the best)! Instead, the common-quality loot item is now a companion pet! So even if trading card games aren't your thing (but they should be, really) you can still have a good chance at obtaining another companion for your collection!
The War of the Elements expansion includes loot cards rewarding three
New Winged Lion Flying Mount "Coming Soon" To Blizzard Store
2011.03.21 um 20:14
Too cool now for your spectral pony,
? You're in luck! Blizzard have just posted a teaser screenshot on Facebook of what appears to be a finished version of the winged lion mount which was discovered in the Patch 4.1 files! This mount is apparently "coming soon" to the Blizzard Store! No word yet on price, date of availability, or whether proceeds will benefit any organizations (perhaps maybe for Japan relief?) but we'll definitely keep you guys posted.

Winterspring Frostsaber Mount Grind Changed in 4.1
2011.02.28 um 14:38
It seems that my speculations were correct! In the first batch of PTR data a few uncategorized spells surfaced involving the care and feeding of Wintersaber cubs. Then, I'm sure many of you noticed the adorable new cub models in our last model post. Finally, today's update brought in the quests that seal the deal - the Winterspring Frostsaber mount grind is being changed in patch 4.1! Instead of requiring a seemingly arbitrary assortment of repeatable quests to increase reputation, the process will instead be (basically) identical that of earning the Horde's
Oh, and for the record - yes, there's a companion pet version of this adorable little kitty. Both Alliance and Horde players will be able to purchase their very own

in Everlook. Attention Pirates! The vendor is a human and not of goblin faction, but is located inside one of the buildings. However, the pet does NOT bind on pickup, so there's really no reason you shouldn't be able to take another, non-pirate character to grab one or get a guildie or friend to help out. :)
