Final Boss for Warlords of Draenor Revealed, Next Legendary will be a Ring

In an interview by Tom Chilton with Vanion.eu at this year's Gamescom, Chilton revealed the end boss for the Warlords of Draenor will be none other than Grommash Hellscream.

It\u2019s the New Year, and 2014 is going to be a big one for World of Warcraft. This November marks the game\u2019s 10-year anniversary and the 20-year anniversary of the entire Warcraft series. Gear Changes in Warlords of Draenor

Blizzard posted a lengthy blog covering all the changes to gear in Warlords of Draenor--broken down into two subcategories, Armor and Non Armor. Click the cut for the full blog, or check out our summary below:
Your gear for armor slots (helms, shoulders, etc) changes primary stats and set bonuses based on your spec. There is no "strength plate" or "intellect plate"--simply plate that changes based on your role. Gear for these primary armor slots will always contain Stamina and Armor, as well as either Agility\/Intellect\/Strength based on your spec.
Secondary stats for armor will remain unchanged when switching between specs (crit, mastery, haste). Hit, expertise, dodge, and parry are removed completely, and spirit and bonus armor no longer appear on armor pieces.
New secondary stats, in addition to crit, mastery, haste: Amplify, Multistrike, and Readiness. Hearthstone Closed Beta Patch Notes

Today is the day for our Hearthstone Closed Beta patch! This patch also includes the account wipe, so when the servers are available for play once more, you\u2019ll be starting again as if you were a new player. The maximum level is now 60, and you can earn XP in any game mode up to max level.
Chat has been rejiggered.
Gold gained in Play mode has changed from 5 gold per 5 wins to 10 gold per 3 wins.
You can now acquire Golden Basic minions at higher experience levels.
Arena rewards now give less dust and more cards.
More gold is guaranteed at 5 & 6 Arena wins.
At 9 Arena wins, you are now guaranteed an extra pack or a Golden card.
The animations for Secrets and Fatigue have been sped up dramatically.
All cards now have flavor text when you view them in your collection.

5.3 PTR Patch Notes are live!

The 5.3 PTR patch notes are already here and a lot of interesting changes are coming.
Some of the highlights include:
4 New Scenarios, and a brand new heroic difficulty for Scenarios
A new Battleground - Gold Rush located in Valley of the Four Winds.
Loot Specialization - you can now pick which spec you receive loot for (helpful for gearing offsets!)
Bonus Rolls now have a proection from bad luck streaks, each roll gets a progressively higher chance at loot.
World of Warcraft PTR Patch 5.3

New Battleground: Gold Rush
In the new Battleground situated in the Valley of the Four Winds, the Alliance and Horde continue their war for Pandaria\u2019s precious resources. While the two factions battle for control over mines, they must also protect their own resources from being stolen and turned against them!

Another round of hotfixes today, including some Throne of Thunder encounter fixes and an even larger piece of news that you no longer can obtain loot from
if you are not on your home realm. So no more hopping to over to other realms in hopes of getting a kill.

Mists of Pandaria Will Be Released September 25th

The Mists of Pandaria release date has finally been revealed as September 25th, 2012. Its retail price will be $39.99 USD, with a digital collector's edition sitting at $59.99 USD and the physical collector's edition at $79.99.

Blizzard Trademarks "Mists of Pandaria," Next Expansion?

Put on your tinfoil hats--it looks like an April Fools' joke may become a reality. Last week, Blizzard filed for a trademark for "Mists of Pandaria" under computer software. This is a common practice for the registration of expansion titles; for example, the Cataclysm was filed for trademark on June 26, 2009 and its domain was bought subsequently. Similarly, a Pandaria domain was also purchased last week.
This means that it's possible that the next expansion will be announced at BlizzCon and that it will be Mists of Pandaria.
Let the speculation run wild--what do you guys think? Is this our future expansion or a false alarm? Will the pandarens be a playable race for both sides, a neutral faction even though Blizzard has said that they like factions to be identifiable and distinct for horde and alliance? Or maybe their role will be more of a lore one, focusing on them as quest hubs and a central conflict?

PTR Patch 4.1 Notes Updated (3/15)

The PTR Patch 4.1 notes have just been updated with some interesting class and raid encounter changes!
now reduces Arcane Explosion's mana cost by 25\/50%.
now ignores 50% armor in PvP but still 100% in PvE.
can be done as a 10v10 Rated Battleground.

Firelands Raid Not Coming in Patch 4.1

According to a post over at Eurogamer.net it seems Blizzard has decided to release patches more often and Firelands will not be in 4.1. Blizzard hasn't said anything official on this but the good news is that they want to push new features sooner, rather than waiting for huge content patches like we are currently used to.

It's that time again: BlizzCon 2011 has been announced! On Friday, October 21 through Saturday, October 22, players from around the world will be able to once again return to the Anaheim Convention Center to participate in Blizzard's fan convention.\r
Right now there is no information on when tickets will be available, but rest assured as soon as we have that info we'll post it here!\r
What could be better than spending two days checking out the latest versions of Blizzard games, watching eSports tournaments, and chatting with developers alongside a few thousand of your closest friends? We couldn't think of anything either, so we're bringing BlizzCon back in 2011!
