Dear Wowhead... (Episode 3)
04.01.2009 um 14:00
The Wowhead advice column returns this week with a letter that comes to us from Tinker Town!
For generations my family has been some of Gnomeregan's finest engineers, inventors and demolitions experts. My Great-grandfather was the inventor of the indispensable Polyphonic Sub-Range Anaylyzer! I know right?!
But lately, my thoughts have wandered from electro-spanners and thorium plated thermal adjusters. I have desires... DARK desires. Why, just the other day I was in my father's work shop helping him reconfigure the micro-cog agitator matrix of his spectral reinstantiator when I started thinking how great it would be if I could "summon" forth some worker to walk in from the void and do the work for me.
Aren't Gnomes supposed to be engineers? All this fanciful arcane fascination with fallen magics is wrong isn't it?
Looks like our little gnome is growing up!
Don't worry, Feling. The urges you're feeling are perfectly natural. There comes a time in every young gnome's life when his mind begins to drift from thoughts of hypersonic crank-wrenches and ionically-charged nega-flywheels to thoughts of a more...
nature. This is normal! You're simply going through the physical, mental, and emotional changes that all gnomes go through when they reach a certain age. You may have noticed other changes as well – hair in unexpected places, and possibly (though rarely, in the case of gnomes) a deepening of the voice. All this is to be expected.
Now is a good time to talk to your family about the ins and outs of summoning and controlling your first demon. Gnomes are growing up fast these days, and as such it's more important than ever to practice safe-summoning! Summoning demons without the proper safe-guards,
s, and ritual-circles in place can lead to a nasty case of
. Remember – there is no cure, and the only 100% effective way to prevent
is not to summon demons at all.
Be sure to talk to an adult about demon-summoning before you try it, and don't be afraid to go at your own pace! Don't give in to peer pressure.
