Limit's Blog on Mythic Jaina Progression and Challenges

Limit, the second guild to kill Mythic Jaina in Battle of Dazar'alor, has published a
detailed blog on HeroesHearth
by Tagzz explaining their progression tactics, including challenges and strategies. Through this blog, we'll learn how Limit reached some similar conclusions to Method, why they ended up choosing a different strategy, and their best attempt percentages each day.
As Limit did not stream progression, this is a cool behind-the-scenes look at what happened every day of the race.

Leading up to Jaina
Looking back, many of Limit's strategies were messier-than-usual on the earlier bosses, relying on brute force. Big Dumb Guild's Rastakhan strategy was praised for being thoughtful.
Day 1 was about learning the first intermission phase. The most valuable takeaway of that day was that Moonkins could detect the positioning of the boss and images.
Jaina initially had several bugs - she hardly damaged the tanks, and had odd sporadic movements, which were fixed Thursday and Friday.
On day 2, their best attempt was 33% as the team learned Phase 2.
Progression was hampered by the
bug, in which the raid would get 4 additional Chilling Touch stacks at the beginning of the Phase 1 Transition. This affected Limit after their dinner break, and for half of Method's attempts the next day.
Limit broke through the wall, with their best attempts at 24%.
The guild was split on using the burn strat Method ultimately used for their kill, but elected to try this strat for the day.
LImit got to 18% with the burn strategy, but thought it would be impossible to use for the kill.
Method surpassed Limit in progression, reaching 15% that day, but Limit was still confident as they had more Phase 3 experience.
Limit tried to get creative, trying all sorts of alternative strategies and learning a lot about Phase 3 mechanics through experimentation.
They learned about the timing of Jaina's Ice Block with her other abilities, notably that Orb of Frost is skipped. They tried to incorporate this knowledge into their kill strategy.
They also discovered that the Troll Racial
was very powerful in reducing
They settled upon their final strategy for when to use Bloodlust, which differed from Method. Limit pre-lusts the raid except for 1 person and then pull after 2 minutes. That 1 person gets a Bloodlust the second they interrupt Jaina into Phase 3. This forces Jaina to Ice Block for 20 seconds. The rest of the raid then uses Bloodlust at 1 second left on Jaina's Ice Block, which allows the raid to get 39 seconds of Bloodlust in the Phase 3 burn.
Limit race-changed many players to Trolls and started the day confident about a kill.
Blizzard changed how Orb of Frost interacted with Ice Block--it was no longer skipped, but delayed.. This affected Limit's strategy, but it still seemed in reach as they got Jaina to 10%.
They were unable to make it cleanly past Siegebreaker, and realized that Method's attempts were getting cleaner over time. They raided 2 hours extra, but the attempts got worse as players got tired.
Method killed Jaina while Limit was re-clearing on Opulence.
Attendance became a challenge as many players had to return to school or work, which led to a late start on Wednesday.
Limit killed the boss with only one paladin left alive in a bubble.
When Method killed Jaina, they had an average ilvl of 406. At that point in time for Limit, their average ilvl was 402, showing that gearing and preparation was valuable for the fight. A burn strategy is harder to execute with poorer gear.
