Maldraxxus, a zone of war, big bones, and plague. Naturally, it's a place where you'd want to wear a mask.
Pandemis
is an NPC reminding everyone to do just that. Found in the House of Plagues at around 60, 71, he will have heard that you're planning on venturing further, and wants to know where your mask is.
I was informed you would be heading into the crash site. You're going into the most dangerous place in Maldraxxus. Be careful, wear a mask, and wash your hands.
Ask him "Wear a mask?" and he will reply,
How do you survive? Not wearing basic protective gear whiled doing dangerous activities. Here, take this extra one.
This will cast
Persönliche Luftfilterung
on you, which equips you with a mask in the style of a plague doctor for 10 minutes.
We wondered if there would be some sort of nod to the biggest and most disruptive event of this year - something as serious as COVID-19 is a delicate subject, which makes it difficult to reference without being hugely insensitive. But they've done a good job - this little interaction is tasteful and even cute.
After all, when there's a plague or, say, a
pandemic
, it's a good idea to wear a mask. No one can find being reminded of that offensive, surely?
