24.11.2019 um 09:24
Continuing our coverage of the new Assaults coming in Patch 8.3 Visions of N'zoth, today we are previewing yet another assault type on the Vale of Eternal Blossoms. This time by ancient servants of the Old Gods, the Mantid. This preview will cover specific objectives and dailies for this assault.
The Endless Swarm - Mantid Assault
The Mantid assault is focused on the western border of the
Das Tal der Ewigen Blüten
and the Serpent's Spine wall. This assault comes with its own unique rare spawns, creatures, quests, treasures and events that will become active in the marked area.
Completing this assault gives 500 reputation with the
, a new faction in 8.3. Their faction quartermaster now has some items of interest to sell, including the
. In addition the
Kriegsschlange der Rajani
is sold by the faction quartermaster, but doesn't have a reputation requirement and is sold in exchange for a
may likely be a drop from a rare creature, a very rare drop from the many elite cloud serpents during the Mogu assault specifically, or a secret.
Stage 1: Cull the mantid swarm
The objective of this assault is to weaken the Mantid forces throughout the zone. This is done by completing various objectives within the marked area until the progress bar reaches 100%. Almost all activities will give progress towards your objective which will be tracked under your objectives tracker while in the Vale of Eternal Blossoms and also visible on the World Map.
Some of the activities that can be done to make progress on this includes:
Interacting with most objects
Completing daily quests
Finale: Slay Kri'vin
Once you reach 100% progress, you will need to deal with
, located just at the end of the road headed towards the Gate of the Setting Sun.
Many unique rares will spawn throughout the marked area on the map. Each of them drop a small amount of
and also have a fairly high chance to drop some Bind-on-Account armor tokens such as
Stoffhelm des Schwarzen Imperiums
. It is also likely that some of these rares may have rare vanity drops.
A quest chain specific to the mantid assault can be found while the assault is active. The quest gives some light to how the Mantid have united in service of N'zoth and a new Grand Empress, forming an army to swarm the Vale of Eternal Blossoms.
The quest line begins from
, a quest item drop from Mantid in the zone. Seems to have a very high chance to drop from rare enemies.
In addition to this questline, like the other assaults, there are several dailies that become available each day related to the assault. Each gives a small amount of
and 75 reputation with the
Scattered around the marked area of the
Das Tal der Ewigen Blüten
you'll find many events that will show up on your minimap when near them. Completing these will give progress towards Stage 1 of the assault objective and a small amount of reputation with the
Vil'thik Feeding Grounds
This event will have you destroying the Mantid Suspension Chambers scattered around the area.
Chin's Noodle Cart
Protect Chin from waves of mantid enemies while he repairs his Noodle Cart.
Destroy the Field Generators surrounding the Incubator to disrupt it, completing this event.
Attack and destroy the Swarm Caller. As it takes damage, mantid will come to its defense.
The mantid are attempting to heal one of its massive Kunchongs, destroy the Mending Amber to stop this. Be careful, the Kunchong will
Um sich schlagen
when you destroy one of the ambers.
We don't have a screenshot for this one, but this event will have you pick up a nearby Shado-Pan Flamethrower and burn the hatchery down.
