Window Central's Interview with Morgan Day
. Make sure to check out the
which also covers questions about Mythic+ and live tuning Class Balance.
The developers feel like Conduits are a big part of where Covenant power is coming from.
They feel like they have a lot of balance tuning knobs that can be introduced by conduits.
A big part of the class balance discussion is making sure that players feel like they have distinct strengths and weaknesses, making them feel unique
Even though there are weaknesses, the goal is to having tuning knobs required to shore up those weaknesses.
e.g. If you feel like you're not being invited to Mythic+ because of your choices, those are places they'll try to make changes.
Unique Dungeon Interactables
Dungeons will have unique interactions with your Covenant choice.
If you're a Kyrian, you can repair a defeated automaton on the ground in the Necrotic Wake which grants you and your party buffs.
Joining another covenant will be easy, but rejoining a Covenant you left will be more difficult.
There will be some tasks that they would ask you to do.
You'll keep any progress that you've made including Renown and Soulbind progress.
There will be really strong catch-up mechanics.
Renown comes purely in levels.
When you're behind, you will get new opportunities to earn Renown.
When you're really far behind, you can start getting Renown from repeatable sources like Mythic+ or PvP.
