it's funny that they are now already asking for BC, when they just got classic servers
I'm so exited. I can not hide it.
No wall jumping? thats half the fun
good questions wowhead. its about time someone ask straight good questions
Vanilla is back, bb. :] Can't wait!
I would really like to get the removed mounts from Zul Gurub to my modern WoW :(
Classic really doesn't need this much attention, most of us have played it already, and they keep saying they want to preserve the "Classic experience" so why do people keep asking the same dumb questions about it over and over? I get not trusting the Devs, but you aren't ever going to get a different answer than anything they've been saying for the last year. Its Classic, it's 14 yrs old, the only differences will really be modernizing it for modern hardware, it'd look really stupid if had a square picture. I have no problem with Classic, but I think everyone who thinks they want it is missing the big picture, its not going to magically turn is into teenagers again and make our careers and families non-existent. Current WoW has evolved into what it is because of those reasons. People don't have 40hrs a day to play WoW, well, maybe Asmongold does :P.
I wish we were going to be able to transmog from classic to current (understand why not backwards) & also wish any mounts/toys/etc. that are acquired in classic that aren't already in your current collections would be able to move over to current (cry).
Little bit sad about the Tmog, but I guess I can understand how it increases value by keeping it limited.
Cool
I'm so glad they're aiming for as close as possible to the original. I'm mostly a purist regarding gameplay (less so with UI; most of that's moddable if any changes are really annoying anyway), and so I love that pretty much everything they say is that it should be the same. I'm actually alright with sharding as a temporary measure at launch - it's only realistic to assume that there'll be a whole lot more people playing at launch than 6 months in, and dead servers or server merges down the line would be much more disruptive to a server community than sharding the lowbie zones for a few weeks until the crowd spreads out a bit. CRZ is the big no-no for me and they've made crystal clear that that is not an option - good.
Also for the transmog (reminded by comments above lol), it's a shame but tbh I'm glad - I was torn, as I REALLY want a lot of things that are now gone (original epic mounts!), but while it'd work for me, as I want to play Classic anyway, it wouldn't be great for the community to have a load of people playing who are NOT interested in Classic for Classic gameplay, only for the transmog they can get from it. I do hope they consider putting some of the missing things back into live though, if they're putting the old data into the new game engine, I wonder how much extra work it'd be to put some of the old instances into current Wow's Caverns of Time, loot and all?
Cool!
Are we going to have PvP and PvE servers ! ;) ?
If my guess is right, rolling a Paladin means you are just buff battery for the whole 40man raid? I remember buffs used to be group wide and only lasted for like 5 or 10 mins before they changed it to 30 mins or an hour and later raid wide. Here's some class "stereotype" I can remember.Warriors: TankPaladins (Alliance Only): Buffs and Mana batteries (with their judgment if I remember)Shamans (Horde Only): Didn't play Horde back then, they probably did something with their totems I guess and of course Bloodlust :PHunters: Kite Kite Kite the adds!Priests: DispellDruids: Heal Heal HealRogues: Was there any in raids (Other than to disarm those traps in BwL?Warlocks: DoTs, moar Dots!Mages: Warlocks wannabies without DoTsMonk / DK / DH: Didn't exist!
My question was not answered, I still wonder how much of the Current Warcraft resourcements they used from developers to money to make something only maybe 5% of the Player base is interested in, and may drop after 2 months like it's the same people that QQ about no content?
Nostalgy... Quand tu nous tiens =)
I hope they used the "seasons and resets" method, that will keep a constant population in the classic realms
