Omg Tyrande and Elune abandoned me! I'm so mad right now that I'll just join the same people who killed me and my loved ones and brought me back from the dead so I can exact revenge on those I hoped would save me from them but failed. My logic is just flawless you and your fake goddess that I revered for millenia can't convince me otherwise! >:(((
To all of the salt seepers wailing about how no Night Elf would ever be overcome with self destructive thoughts and change teams to the very people that killed their family:Fandral Effing Staghelm.Son killed by Old God worshiping fanatics bent on ending the world.Joins Old God worshiping fanatics bent on ending the world.Stop pretending you know all and see all when it comes to all the horrible things that can happen to a person's psyche, but oh no, there's a line NO ONE would ever cross, it's too horrible! They can. They have. In game and in real life. That's why Stockholm Syndrome is a thing. It was valid feedback that not every body would be willing. It is not valid to say 0% of the folks would be overcome by rage/sorrow/anguish/self hatred/whatever. Hell, they may be taking advantage of the potential chance to get back at Sylvanas from inside the Undead faction.Bottom line, no one here is prescient enough to assert every single NE would turn them down and accept the relative impotence of going wisp. Besides, that would be lazy Mary Sue writing "Oh I do declare, they are much too pure to do that!"
C'mon guys even Lord Godfrey shot Sylvanas dead when he had the opportunity and she wasn't even the one who killed him and made him watch his entire city burn with his loved ones trapped inside. lol
It's possible that accepting the ressurection and then serving the forsaken are two different thing. You are yourself when the proposal is made.. but then you change after the ressurection is made, because you're overwhelmed by hate (Like we saw numerous time on forsaken character)Delaryn for example could accept the offer, thinking to help her people even being dead. Then realizing Tyrande fled the battlefield, Elune did nothing and hate taking over her... change mind and accept a new fate. Serving the forsaken and wanting revenge on the living, particulary its own kind serving a false goddess and incompetent leader who abandonned them
Honestly, I think this is a misappropriation of words. To say that the Nigh Elves can "Refuse" to become Forsaken is blasphemy. Personally, I believe that certain Night Elves are strong willed enough (Elune is a prominent lore figure, with semi-unknown aspirations and little backstory ) to resist the influence of undeath. I feel that there is a certain amount of "mind control" regarding raising the dead. As an example: Lorderon and Silvermoon. Yet, this might not be the case with the Night Elves. However, only Blizzard will know where the story takes us.
Maybe they become willing to be raised on a simple basic instinct... "I don't wanna cease to exist".
I don't see it as a 'well, time to join the Horde' decision. I see it more as souls who died full of resentment and bitterness towards what they believed in, and what comes back is that malice - not fully who they were before.
These traitors will die for it.
It just means some of the dead Night Elves are strong willed enough to resist the mind control involved in raising them while others aren't.
When I die , I will stalk Blizzard employees as a ghost
It think it could be a case of “You didn’t save me/help me, so I’ll just go against you!” Or maybe even slight mind control. I don’t know just yet, it’s too early to tell. Hmmm
"The darkness closes in...my vision is clouded..." - Echo of Tyrande - End Time. For people wondering why would Night elves join Sylvanas i would say check Tyrande's quotes from End time. In End time Tyrande and the night elves around were desperate ... asking for Elune's help with no answer. The darkness and despair twisted their minds and made them attack us as they can no longer differentiate friends and foes. The situation here is kinda similar. at least to some of the night elves. The horde attacked their home. slaughtered their people and when they cried out for help. Elune abandoned them. Fear and despair twisted their minds, and made them accept the Valkyer's call to be resurrected as Forsaken... Maybe their whole life was a lie ... Maybe Elune didn't give a damn about them ... Maybe Sylvanas was right all along.
So Blizzard takes the extra effort to listen to fan feedbacks to adjust its quest lorewise and you are STILL spitting on the work ? You know what ? ^&*! y'all, your whining is what ruined wod, Blizzard should only listen to themselves when it comes to lore.
Yet more Horde only toys it seems.
