old-school-"inspired" (quotes mine)I suspect that AV was made with massive programming to NPCs. I suspect that after Ashran doing the same, and the concept of "fixing" BGs or programmatic agony to do so, they decided the only way to move forward was a new AI. Ion H. said before BfA they could tell NPCs to punch you in the face or shoot you from a distance and that was it. The AI's first iteration in warfronts (it is also in the Comp Stomp brawl, as discussed in a bit) was untested and buggy. There was intended to be a new warfront by now; Season 2 of BfA was long enough that at least a premie child could have/was somewhere conceived and born during the season -- and lived). Darkshore was in horrible shape prerelease and a ton of iron was added to make it playable, but the amount of iron is totally unbalanced and you notice that what probably would have been a new warfront for .2 became a fix to how A) buggy and B) boring warfronts were/could be especially after the first, oh, ten times and a high enough necklace and ilvl -- and called a Heroic. Therefore, what I suspect is that at some point we'll get an AV made from the AI, and this might be moving towards that. It's the "inspired" that gets me and I don't know what it means. Perhaps, I'm thinking, this is part of that ultimate giving over of old, programmatically nightmarish AV over to Classic and bring one to Retail that is based on the new AI and the new graphical standard for Azeroth zones. The ram makes me wonder if they're updating the visual of AV at the same time (hoping they'll redo BC BGs next). That ram wouldn't look at home in regular AV. I don't know, Warsong Gulch and Arathi Basin were visually redone and they were from Classic, so it's fitting that AV get the treatment before the end of the expansion.
Those 2 offhand items - what are these?
I agree. Like the Kodo's got an upgraded look and the two Gilneas mounts did also.
I'm all for updated models for the older mounts--as long as it doesn't replace the original models. After 15 years, I've grown quite fond of my original ram. I will hug him and hold him and squeeze him and love him and I will call him George. :)
These HD rams look so nice. I hope they add in some unarmored ones as wild animals. I know some beasts aren't made tameable hunter pets because their graphics have aged so poorly, and I have a suspicion that's why the rams/goats that use the original model aren't tameable as goats. This mount will be my priority this anniversary.
Needs more hair on the front shoulders and legs like the old one has...
I got the achievement today were do you get the ram from now.....anyone got idea which npc I need to find?
