for players like me with 10 alts, Im going to do the same thing I did with essences. Plop one in there and never change it, especially if I have to farm up a replacement. No thanks, it will be set it and forget it
This.I couldn't agree more. There are many ways they could fix this. I was thinking of a panel like the HoA has now, for example, and the option to be able to swap them out the same way
So, 4 covenants with 3 soulbinds each.I expect them all (both covenant abilities and soulbinds for each covenant)to be unique. I mean, what would be the point (gameplay wise) if they all would be more or less the same, right? With those thoughts I think it would be reasonable to assume, that some covenants will justbe plain better than the rest for a specific content. Not to mention that covenant X will be the best or a certain spec in a certain content while covenant Y will be best for another specof the same class. I think that is fine, as it keeps the covenants uniqe. If those are true, I am forced to pick a certain covenant in order to remain competitive.Or even worse, I'm forced to to play only certain spec because of reasons ..I was told there would be a choise, not a choise to be either be good or bad at spec/class.Generally speaking,I would hate to pick Venthyr or Necrolord as a druid in order to have the best tanking performance.Or to pick those NIght Fae tree huggers as a death knight in order to spread my pestilense far and wide.
Hm i can only play few hours every day doing dailies and hate dungeons, guess this system is not for me.
One final thing I'll say:If someone tomorrow made a program that suggested the best talents for each dungeon and raid for your class. I guarantee, 1 million percent, that everyone will be saying they are "forced" to change their talents for each dungeon to be optimal and that the game should be designed around choosing the best talents for each encounter. That is how ridiculous the mentality is of wanting the best soulbinds and conduits for every piece of content in the game.
If a group requires a specific talent/covenant/soulbind, then that's not a group I want to be part of.This is what guilds are for. Stop playing with random people..and for the people saying they need to be "competitive" What are you competing against?Take the player, not the spec.I would 100% rather have a nice, unselfish, really bad player in my group, rather than some arrogant, self righteous, super competitive person.I play to have fun, not to push some envelope. The solution isn't to change the GAME to match the toxic behavior, change the BEHAVIOR to match the game.
World of Purple Ponies, why Ion, why?
Sounds like we will be spending hours going back and forth between website and sims just to figure out how to play are character with all the "systems". Just give us a talent tree and let us play. It's like you need a college degree in blizzard systems just to understand all these systems just to play a video game.
I don't see why they cant work like our neck essences, let us unlock them all and socket in the ones we want at any given time. if you are just going to ad another talent tree make it work like one.I know they say they want to discourage people hording conduits by making the different soulbinds but what happens when only one soulbind is good, or just marginally better than the other 2 any any situation, I already have to have 4 sets of gear, 1 single target, one multi, one for M+, and one for pvp. I am not a hybrid class either but there just is no reason to play my other 2 specs.Without a doubt come this time next year if this system isn't changed I know for a fact I will have 2-3 bags dedicated to just conduits so I can swap things around on a fight by fight basis and I know others will do the same just for fear of destroying the wrong one and not being able to swap back, only being able to change them at one location is not going to stop that. The covenants are a good idea, really they are, but if they are going to impact my throughput and progression I wont enjoy them. I like maldraxxus, nothing revealed so far has changed that but I know I will have to pick a covenant that doesn't fit me or my play style or class/character fantasy just for pve and it depresses me. I will say at least it seems like I am not the only one. maybe things will change. I just hope its not in 9.3 in the last few months of shadowlands.
Sounds like a fun system and I look forward to setting up soulbinds for different purposes without the need to endlessly swap conduits
his clickbait revealed
We're finally getting RPG elements added back into the game. Player choice will matter again. Feels like WoW is regaining its soul after Legion and BFA. The ideal playstyle should be single class single spec, Blizzard should focus solely on this type of player and stop trying to please everyone because it doesn't work. I really miss when we were specialized masters of specific things vs jack of all trades perfect for every situation no matter what content we're in. For the first time in a long time Shadowlands will make WoW feel like I'm back home again.
I love this so much. An mmoRPG should have meaningful choices and have consequences to match. If you want to be the best at everything you SHOULD have to put in the work, such as farming conduits. In my opinion the people angry about this system(and the Covenant system as a whole) are the mythic first racers, Invitees to the MDI, Arena Champions ANDthose that simply parrot what those players say.
