Making conduits permanent and having them be destroyed if changed LEAVES NO CHANCE FOR EXPERIMENTATION.If anything, people will hoard all the condiuts possible, wait for simming sites to update and then pick which one the is the 'correct' choice...because the game is designed that way. There is always a 'correct' choice despite what they say.''A core of RPG customization lies in those strengths and weaknesses, otherwise players are identical -- where this is a right path or you're doing it wrong.'' Feels like he doesn't know his own playerbase. He really think groups will let people 'experiment?' They will look at the gear and conduits, hell even covenants and say ''you picked the wrong ones'' and reject applications. And the fights are tend to be designed in such a way that the %1 extra damage matters a lot and if you pick something to 'experiment' that doesn't give you that %1, then you are wrong. It is a terrible side effect of their own making. When you add so many variables and make half of those almost 'permanent', you will have people simulate as much as possible before they commit. Not to mention the 'balancing' patches that will happen in the middle of the expansion where the values etc will shift dramatically.''If Conduits were swappable, the right way to play would be an inventory management nightmare -- you'd have a collection of conduits that you'd be hoarding and swapping in and out.'' Why not give them the essence like tab then? In this way, conduits will be like Corruption pieces but worse since if you change it, the old one is destroyed. And people already had a second freaking set on their inventory to switch because it was that messy. Now people will hoard as much conduits as possible in their inventory that will probably take many slots unnecessarily. He really thinks people will just destroy the old conduit to just 'test' the new one? If anything, that will make the player even more angry. ''Oh I got this new conduit, lets see if it is better...oh turns out it was worse and my better one got destroyed because EXPERIMENTING. Now I have to farm it back with RNG if I wanna get my spot back in the group.Jesus, sometimes I wonder if they even play their own game.
I did enjoy reading the thoughts and opinions about this.Another thing what did not occur to me before is that it's probablethat all the soulbinds (and probably covenant abilities aswell) will be evenly matched in the power/performance outputand it ends being more an asthetic choice for most of the players.Probably not at the start but I expect them be polished/balancednot long after launch. No one should feel feel punished for picking a covenant of their liking. Most players probably won't even notice if there is a few percent of power difference between covenants and their stuff. As long as they keep them uniqe in the form of gameplay it's all gucci.
do u really believe they could be balanced? have u seen live demonhunters and warlocks? these stuff are all situational. We need We deserve to be able to change our abilities in its proper situation . if we cant, we are strong at one content and weak in other content. i choose my covenant and soulbind for pve and m+ and im behind others in raids and arena . u gotta imagine if u had the right covenant u could win arena but u dont have that choice there so u r consistently losing to people with more optimal choices.
Blizzard please fix soulbinds and conduits. Let it be like a library like Bellular was saying. And allow us to use 3 of the same potency conduits if we want too. Please DO NOT make it so we have to farm to get conduits a better ilvl or have to change them if we change class spec. Then having to buy or get them again. THAT ISN'T FUN. Please make Shadowlands fun.
All I want to know is if conduits can be gotten from all areas if they are BIS for that area.I hated essences, if I raided to get my BIS I might need to PvP, Island Adventure (ignoring that it needed to be done for all content for neck levels) and Mythic+. Likewise if I just wanted to do Mythic+ or PvP I was forced to do the others to be the best in the content that I wanted to do. Plus I needed to rep grind on top. Obviously with only 4 slot I din't need to do all of them but pick a mix (though off specs might have meant everything). As long as all types of conduits are available in all content I'll be happy enough, I don't want to have to Mythic+. Same goes for gear, PvP players should have to raid to need to hold thier own, they should ge tthe best gear for PvP from PvP, Raiders the best gear from Raiding and Mythc+ runners should get thier best gear from that content.
just another dog*!@# system that no one really wants
