Oh boy i'm excited to read responses! I'm sad to see this personally, but it isn't a big deal
What a pointless change... Guess they couldn't stand Sylvanas still being insulted in-game all these years later lol
As a woman, I loved that line because I've always hated Sylvanas and it felt good to finally hear someone- especially a Horde member- say it. Now Blizzard, a company run almost entirely by men, is trying to tell me they need to protect me from a word I use casually every day between myself and my female friend group because I'm supposedly this pathetic little weakling that can't handle it.
So glad I completed that quest before this embarrassing move by blizz lmao.
It's some really bad optics when it's coming from Steve Danuser who is a bit hooked on Sylvanas. I disagree with this 100%.
I actually remember being really surprised when I heard Garrosh curse back in Cataclysm. It's not an inaccurate insult, Sylvanas is a massive $%^&*, but I don't think the game is changed much by removing the line.
This is really pathetic on Blizzard’s end. Genocide and all manner of torturous horrors are fine but the word @#$%^ isn’t?
I honestly find little point in trying to make the racist xenophobic warmonger PC...
how about we finish SL and not worry about stuff like this
Seems more like PC policing then anything else. ohhhh nooo bad word I literally read worse from Trade chat XD but whatever it's not a big deal. maybe the mod community can make something that plays that line when you silence someone
Fine by me. Companies (e.g. Rocksteady and Batman) came under fire recently for excessive use of the word 'b****' because it is a very specific slur used against women. This is just Blizzard following through with the industry trend trying to soften the language. See e.g. changes around blacklist and whitelast and master and slave words in programming.
Pointless to remove it, it's part of Garrosh personality and the other examples the word fits well, it's an expression, no need to go soft Blizz!
How unexpected, a man who made his own self insert as a Nathanos defends Sylvanas
I kinda agree with it's removal, just not for the same reasons they did it for. Profanity isn't used much by wow characters and this one comes out of nowhere. It always felt out of place.
What does it matter? That word can barely be used on TV, let alone a game rated T. It isn't the first time it has happened, will probably not be the last. They can continue to put stuff in books and yeah little kids probably use the words anyway, but I don't see why it was a big enough reason to make an article out of it.Now it is going to be blow out of proportion and it is something that probably would have went unnoticed by most if it was never mentioned.
Sad to see this happening, to be honest. It was bad enough when they removed Ji Firepaw giving you a hug because of some very vocal people complaining about consent. Very disappointing all around.
Im sorry but hearing Garrosh say it like it is was one of the reasons i even quested in silverpine like....she is a biatch. Why try to hide it when someone actually calls her out on what she is.Bad move imo.
Pointless change imo, takes away from the story & their relationship. Much rather they spend their time doing something else.
So they finally decided to fix those. It always felt so strange and completely out of character from Garrosh to say that. Of course, I don't blame anyone, since this, just like Stonetalon, was probably just remnant from early stages when they didn't really know what they wanted his character to be.
