i mean.... why? it's prepatch, let people craft decent gear...
I can't help but wonder, what's the point of these things are any more? If I recall correctly, the old relic V was the equivalent to near 430, what's wrong with 430 ilvl crafting stuff at this point? We'll just replace it on alts once the Icecrown stuff begins and it would of been nice to make for future alts stepping into the shadowlands, I feel this is just another poorly thought out decision on their part.
i was exited about it at first.. and then they nerfed it.. and was still okish for catch just more expensive.. and then they said lets make it entirely uselessit seemed like they were actually making crafting useful and now i see no point in it at all soo expensive for completely useless gear
Originally it was ilvl100 on the first iteration, so on par on normal Nyalotha gear and the prepatch event gear, i was happy i can gear up all my alts without having to fly around and hope that i'll be lucky and the event boss will spawn i need and it also will drop the gear piece i need. Now it's completely useless, it's on par with the lvl110 green gear from the start of BFA crafting, so you'll for sure not use any of them on a fresh lvl120 toon. Another hamfisted undocumented fail change by the developers, and for what? I don't understand at all..
Yeah they should've just left this system alone at the ilvl 100 point. I was planning on making some big bank with the ah using this system.
Jesus, Blizzard is pathetic...
How embarrassing, I was looking so forward to using this feature and now its completely pointless to even create these items.Hopefully it's because of an underlying bug somewhere and this is just temporary until fixed otherwise this system should just be removed all together.
So, the intention is to keep people in BfA and the expulsom grind to make starter gear? So this "new system" opens up with "you are stupid if you use it"? Could they please just spend dev time on stuff that is useful? Why make stuff nobody will ever use for any reason and then... run out of time to finish the xpac because you spent all this time making those systems you don't intend for anyone to use?
oh god, people were having FUN? get it OUTA here!
the first thing I did when prepatch went live is immediately ran to a blacksmithing trainer to see learn how to craft relics, I was so disappointed. If they were worried about the gold shuffling, make the item vendor for the same price it did before you used a relic.
I am glad I wasted 17,000 gold on threads to find out not only does it not work on 3/4 of the blacksmithing plans for no reason, including some parts of a set and not others...(I'm looking at you Enchanted Thorium), but it was also ilvl nerfed without any notice AND wasn't even on undocumented changes page until this thread got posted. Thanks for baiting us into at least a half useful craft system then making it not even worth the 8 copper to train the recipes at the 11th hour.
This is a really frustrating nerf! Of course, changing the system to avoid vendor shuffle was making sense, but for me, the whole appeal of this system was to make 15 years of cool crafted items with sometime great utilities available as an alternate choice for near endgame content (level 50 and maybe later level 60 for a relic 6).An additional frustrating point is that a lot of old looted recipes are not included in the list of eligible Relic boosted craft (it would be so cool to wear old dragonscale gear from Vanilla for instance - not possible...)At this point the new nerf takes all that out which makes the system completely pointless.I still hope that it will be a pre-patch thing to check how it works and that hopefully they will consider going back up to lvl 87 or even 100 for the release of Shadowlands. Please Blizzard, consider raising the ilvl options and try to include ALL old recipes to the system and you will have a great feature that take profit of all the deepness of a 15-years-old great game.
Stop capitalizing on PTR content, you know the fun police is always watching...Blizzard should have dropped this completely instead of adding it to 9.0.1.
Ya I got loads of mats to just sell some cheep gear sets with 1/2 gem slots on each item with same ilev as normal Ny'alotha. Get people their alts geared up for SL and make a quick buck off it. then last night looked and everything was nerfed.
whelp I know i wont be using this system. I wanted to but now there is no point...le sigh.
This was pretty dumb of a choice and especially to do this last minute. I like other I assume, had some gear ready to be crafted for the alts I leveled early on and never really played during the later patches. Good job blizz /s
And the reason for nerfing Heirlooms was....I don't think Blizzard has a right hand to even think about what their left hand is doing now.
One thing that would be valuable for this article (or any article about the relic system): What was Blizzard's stated goal? I saw this as a way for my newly leveling crafters to make things that would still have value for them as they leveled up.Is this not what Blizzard wanted?
"We want proffs to matter again, so made a nice little upgrade system. We will now nerf them into the ground."
