what a game changer
So I thought the time and resources it would take for the crafts to get the upgraded ilvl armour pieces as well as actually getting the recipes would be the timegating on legendaries, guess they want a hard time gate on soul ash as well. Also there goes crafting multiple legendaries out of the window.Pretty terrible change.
There are 20 or so legendaries per class in the first patch. With the old system it would have taken 80 weeks to get them to 235 ilvl. That's longer than 2 or 3 major patches. By that time there will have been at minimum 2 ranks per patch. 4 in 9.0, 2 in 9.1, 2 in 9.2 and 2 in 9.3. That's 10 ranks! If all ranks costed 100 soul ash it would have been 1000 Soul Ash by 9.3 for each legendary. 1000 multiplied by 20 is 20،000. 20,000 divided by 100 (because you could only have earnt 100 per week) is 200! It would take 200 weeks to get your legendaries to cap. That's with the old system and providing it only goes up by 2 ranks per patch; still costed 100 per rank; and you did Torghast every week. The newer system has slowed that down further. Mark my words, they will HAVE TO buff this.

This change only means that even if you are quite terrible (with current tuning) at clearing torghast you get your first legendary the same week as people who clear it and only start lacking behind when you upgrade to level 4 (or if you want more options). It's quite clear that they are making the torghast legendary grind as casual friendly as possible. I'd much have preferred that there was an actual endless mode and that people who got really far into it would gain a very slight increase in soul ash. With the current soul ash amounts and tuning of torghast the raiders who progress through normal and the raiders who focus on mythic get their legendaries at the exact same time, which is a bit of a shame, (endless) torghast feels like a feature they abandoned about 80% through.edit: This change is going to hinder people playing multiple specs by quite a lot.
400 soul ash was going to take 4 weeks anyway now the quadrupled it oh vah!...torghast grind great..man want to spend my time raiding not grinding torghast..my goal was to conquer castle narthia..crap...now I need to realigne my schedule
Maybe it's a good change. Maybe you would only have the pattern for B-list legendary in the first week and getting one of your preferred in the 2nd week would mean you have mats for the rank 2 and not just a rank 1 and a useless rank 1 from the last week.I know at least one of my patterns is a Torghast drop, so knowing Blizzard's loot chance I will be farming for a while. The caveat is that people in this thread seem to think they can clear all floors of the wings in the first week, in their crappy fresh 60 gear. I kind of doubt that.
omg. again!
If I remember correctly original idea was we will craft Legendary every 2-3 weeks... It would not surprise me if the requirements rise even more.
