I was wondering where I recognized him from
I actually liked that we were following some alien king we've never heard of before.
On the note of familiar characters - if you read the Wildsamenliste that you're given for Wir können nicht alle retten early on in Ardenweald, one of the names will ring bells for Druid players from Legion.
I like how the selection of these characters is kinda "random" in a good way. Apart from big characters (Uther, Draka etc.), those are a tauren that died in a quest, a vanilla boss, a murloc etc. If it was just a showcase of people's favourites, it would be kinda boring, while this version shows that the story is not centered around our perception, and some famous characters can really be anywhere, probably in covenants we'll never visit, while we have a chance to see a guy from vanilla no one really thinks about, but he's still a legitimate part of the world.

I hate to be one of those complainers, but could you maybe not list the names of the people you've found right in the title, and maybe give a more generic running list type of title, so that if people want to discover those names for themselves, they can without getting spoiled every time they visit the site?
I thought I saw Uther with orange name (unattackable) in Bastion during one of the quests, and he subsequently was escorted away by flying.
Ha, no wonder I recognised him. As they say, karma is a b****! Lol
This made me smile when I came across it launch night. Very cool easter egg. Kudos Blizzard.
I personally believe it is not the Houndmaster Loksey we knew. For one it was stated in an interview that souls of beings that we don't have a frame of reference for will have more of an amorphous appearance, which this Loksey has. And another one that I think is pretty telling is the fact that when the large bat comes into view one of the things he says is "what in Gods is that" implying he worshipped many Gods, but Loksey from SM was a member of the Scarlet Crusade and most likely would have worshipped the Light in some form. So he would have probably exclaimed by the Light. The name matches yes, but the appearance and the fact that he seemed to worship multiple Gods to me points to it just being a coincidence of what his name is. Either that or whoever programmed him seriously messed up. His soul should look like a human if anything.
Doctor Krastinov from the vanilla Scholomance dungeon has a reference too. You can find his Sinstone at the Graveyard in the outdoor Halls of Atonement area.
He didn't happen to have a Dog Whistle by any chance, did he?
