Great write up, and very informative. I'm very pleased with BM at the moment, and it's nice to not be overshadowed by MM for a 3rd expansion in a row. Sure there are things that need to be fine tuned, and the spec isn't 100% perfect, but I'm happy with most of the changes and looking forward to rocking BM in BfA.
I too really miss the zoo / beast cannon build. It was fun seeing my stabled pets come out more often and I rarely had any focus issues.
They took worst Legion BM mechanic and made it baseline BFA mechanic. Fantastic (not).
Is there a way to get into pet talents, or did that go away? I have some of the spiders and I have yet to see them use a web once since patch. Don't know if I need to spec the or if that went away completely.
Ok as for the macro, i use this on all of my abilities,#showtooltip Barbed Shot/cast Barbed Shot/petattackWhat should this macro look like if i add my pets current ability?/cast Claw(Basic Attack)/cast Bite(Basic Attack)/cast Smack(Basic Attack)Now i should add all three of these to my current macros right? As written, or leave out the (basic Attack)? Also like to mention, that while using the APPC ring, i have to sometimes redo the pet bars when i log it. Its crazy. I do not have other problems with it except that. But i can say, the Mantle and the Apex ring are the best combination for the pure fact our pets do most of our damage. I have also found, as someone asked, that keeping mastery in mind while picking gear is still a good idea, even in BfA, but also, do not pass up Haste gear because at 120 you will need all you can get because of how much it scales down when you hit 120. You will have it scaled down to 3-4% if you are in the teens someplace. So i have been taking higher Ilvl gear(because our main stat(Agility) does close to double the Dps than the closest secondary, but i keep my eye out for Haste and Mastery gear. But they really are pushing Vers gear in BfA for some reason, a stat i do not like. Anyways i have also replaced my Artifact on a few alts already with the new WQ items, along with some same(and lower) ilvl gear, and the new stuff is siming quite well.Si if you did not waste time on the Silithus sp? quest line to empower your Artifact, the WQ weapons are a nice upgrade, just mog it back to whatever you like. BandakWoW, about that macro, an answer would be greatly appreciated. Also any thoughts on my reply. Am i wrong in any of my suggestions?
The bottom of the rotation guide page has examples of the basic attack macros. Soon these macros will be on a separate guide page.As for stats at 120, yes, Mastery and Haste is looking good with Crit not too far behind. Stat priorities will be updated closer to launch.
I've played BM since Classic so not going anywhere. But... It might be me, but I'm so far not enjoying BFA BM much. I dont find it more engaging than Legion, but less. The lack of any need for energy management I feel lends to this. But the spec just feels boring now. Pros:*Finally get Chimera Shot back into the rotation after so long of it being worthless.Cons:*The loss of our AOE artifact ability*The loss of Tenacity AOE attacks*It feels like Beast Cleave does very little compared to how it was in Legion*Losing Hati. Some people disliked him but I play a class for fun and RP lore, not mechanics/numbers or FotM. Hati was a part of my "family". He didnt even say goodbye. He just... vanished. They need to make Hati if not an exotic tameable, able to change to a Hati skin akin to what we could do in Legion.
I'm pretty happy with Beast Mastery Hunter right now. Just adding Barbed Shot and pretty much the same rotation as before for me.
I must be playing it completely wrong if it's a three-button rotation, then. I'm probably using at least eight. This also applies to any other class/spec that people say have a really small rotation.
I'm enjoying the spec, but I'll add my voice to not liking how the DF playstyle became mandatory. On the other hand Dire Beast was always buggy with flying mobs, or places where the pet could not teleport to, and the change to Barbed Shot will help in landing it. But the DF playstyle just asks too much out of a single skill. Three stacks are super important for the damage, but we need to juggle it with the BW recharge. Do we waste the recharge if there's three seconds left or do we let our Frenzy stacks drop? It is also an AoE damage skill, so we want to spam it for groups, but it is also our Focus replenisher. So basically Barbed Shot:- Recharges BW- Adds quite a bit of damage from the 90% haste increase for our pet.- Does AoE damage- Main spell to recharge our Focus.Stomp being a level 90 talent screws us over while leveling since we have no AoE until Beast Cleave at 50 (Multishot does not deserve being called an AoE). Stomp feels super anemic though. Good to pad DPS meters but that's about it, the damage it does will not impact a fight and unless it crits most time we don't even notice it visually. It's great for agro grabbing though.I'm enjoying the lack of being perpetually focus starved. Now instead of long-ish periods of time where we had to stop we just stutterstep here and there to adjust for the Cobra Shot CD reduction and waiting until the last second to use Barbed Shot.
CedricDur: "I'm enjoying the lack of being perpetually focus starved. Now instead of long-ish periods of time where we had to stop we just stutterstep here and there to adjust for the Cobra Shot CD reduction and waiting until the last second to use Barbed Shot."When you hit 120, (actually while leveling when you hit another level) with the lack of haste stat on gear, we are HORRIBLE with focus starvation. It is bad. If you have say 12% haste at 119, when you hit 120 you get hammered down to 3-4% haste. As for someone said they are using like 8 buttons, what are they? You must be including the pets abilities manually lol. But the rotation is really not 3 buttons, its maybe 4-5 while doing regular mobs questing. That includes Multi Shot in those buttons.
